Who is this for?
Plumbing and heating firms who already have a website, but are embarrassed by it. Or who are not embarrassed, but know it is not pulling its weight.
Here is what we usually hear:
- "It looks fine on my laptop but it is a mess on my phone."
- "The site still lists a combi I stopped fitting five years ago."
- "Customers say they could not find my number."
- "We get some calls from it, so I am scared that touching it will make things worse."
That last worry is a fair one. Plenty of trade firms have paid for a shiny new site and watched their phone go quiet the week it launched. It happens when the old page addresses vanish and nobody tells Google where they went.
What do you get?
A written look at your current site:
we look at your current site and tell you in writing what we would change, what we would keep and why.
URL map of pages that rank:
we list every page that brings in visitors from Google, using Search Console if you give us access, and keep those addresses where we can.
301 redirects done properly:
every old address that changes is forwarded to its closest new match, so customers and Google never hit a dead end.
Rewritten pages in trade language:
out go "solutions" and "excellence", in come boiler swaps, unvented cylinders and same-day leak repairs.
Faster, phone-first design:
big tap targets, a sticky call button and pages that load quickly even on a patchy signal in a basement flat.
Launch checks:
after go-live we watch Search Console for crawl errors and broken links, and fix anything that slipped through.
How do you keep rankings during a redesign?
This is the part most web designers skip. It is also the part that matters most.
Which pages do we protect?
Before we design anything, we pull a list of every page on your current site and check which ones get traffic and enquiries. A page called /boiler-repair-romford/ that brings in calls every week is gold. We keep that address exactly as it is, or redirect it with care if the structure has to change.
What about pages nobody visits?
Old blog posts from 2016, duplicate service pages and "test" pages left behind by a previous developer get one of two treatments. If there is a sensible new home for them, they are redirected there. If not, they are retired cleanly so they stop diluting the rest of the site.
What changes on the content side?
Content that ranks gets improved, not thrown away. We tighten the wording, add answers to the questions customers actually ask, and update prices, brands and accreditations so the page is accurate today. If you hold Gas Safe registration or WaterSafe membership, we display it the way those schemes allow. We know the Trading Standards rules on membership logos and build with them in mind, but you remain responsible for what the site claims.
What happens on launch day?
We switch the domain over at a quiet time, test the redirects one by one, and resubmit the sitemap to Google. Then we keep an eye on things for the first few weeks rather than walking away.
What if the old site is on Wix or Squarespace?
That is common, and it is not a problem. Many plumbers started on a website builder because it was quick. We can move you onto a faster, more flexible setup, or keep you on the same platform if it genuinely suits you. Either way, the redirect plan is the same: every page that earns calls keeps a clear path to its new home.
How does it work?
- Look and list: we review your current site, pull your ranking pages and send you a written summary of what we recommend.
- Fixed quote: a fixed price in writing within one working day, held for seven days.
- Rebuild: we design and write the new site on a private preview link, with the redirect map ready alongside it.
- Switch and monitor: we go live, test every redirect and keep an eye on Search Console for the weeks that follow.
How much does a redesign cost?
The price is driven by how many pages you have now and how many you need. A small site with eight pages is quicker to move than a firm with two hundred pages spread across fifteen towns.

Not sure a redesign is the right call? Sometimes a fresh coat of paint on two or three key pages does the job, and we will say so in our written notes.

Frequently asked questions
Will a plumber website redesign hurt my Google rankings?
It should not, if the move is planned. We keep the addresses of pages that already bring in visitors and set up 301 redirects for any we change, which is where most rebuilds go wrong.
What is a 301 redirect?
It is a permanent forwarding instruction from an old page address to a new one. Visitors and Google both land on the right page, and most of the old page's ranking value carries across.
Do you look at my current site before quoting?
Yes. We look at your current site and tell you in writing what we would change, what we would keep and why, before you commit to anything.
Can you keep my existing domain name?
Almost always. Keeping the same domain is usually the safest choice for rankings, so we only suggest a change if the current name is causing real problems.
What happens to my old content?
We sort it into keep, rewrite and remove. Pages that rank get refreshed rather than deleted, and thin or outdated pages are redirected to the closest useful replacement.
Can I keep my email working during the switch?
Yes. We check your email records before touching anything so your inbox keeps working while the new site goes live.
My old developer will not hand over the login. Can you still help?
Usually, yes. As long as you control the domain, we can rebuild the site and point the domain at it, and we can help you recover domain access if it was registered in someone else's name.
