What should plumbing job management software do?
At minimum, it should take you from enquiry to paid invoice without paper:
Customer records (CRM):
names, addresses, appliance details, job history.
Quotes:
itemised parts and labour, sent from your phone.
Scheduling:
a shared diary for you and your engineers.
Job sheets and photos:
captured on site.
Certificates:
gas safety records, service records and warning notices, if you do gas.
Invoicing and payments:
with a payment link and reminders.
Service reminders:
so last year's boiler service becomes this year's booking.
Accounting sync:
Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.
How much of that you need depends on how many vans you run. A one-van plumber needs quoting, invoicing and certificates. A ten-engineer firm needs dispatch, stock and reporting too.
How do the eight tools compare on price?

What does each plumbing software tool offer?
Commusoft
Commusoft doesn't print plan prices. Its pricing page FAQ says contracts are twelve months, billed monthly by direct debit, and that prices exclude VAT (as of October 2026). Office staff and engineers each count as users.
For websites, Commusoft has an online booking form. Its blog guide explains that customers pick a job type, date and morning or afternoon slot, and each submission creates a job in Commusoft. It says this needs the Paperless Office plan or higher, and that your web developer adds the generated code to your site.
Tradify
Tradify's UK pricing lists Lite at £34, Pro at £37 and Plus at £44 per user per month, with a Custom plan on request (as of October 2026). The page doesn't say whether VAT is included.
Pro and Plus include a "personalised, branded enquiry form and email address" that sends enquiries straight into Tradify. An optional Instant Website add-on costs £10 a month.
Gas Engineer Software (GES)
GES is built around gas paperwork. Its pricing page lists Starter at £19 per user a month (£18 on annual billing), Core at £23 and Pro at £30, all excluding VAT (as of October 2026). The page's plan calculator showed Core at £25 per user when we checked, so confirm the figure at sign-up.
Starter covers records, certificates, customers and jobs. Core adds scheduling, quoting, invoicing and automated reminders. Pro adds QuickBooks, Xero and Sage. The trial is 14 days with no card needed. We look at its certificates in detail in our guide to the best gas certificate apps.
Joblogic
Joblogic's pricing page shows Standard from £45 per user per month, billed annually, with Premium and Enterprise priced on request (as of October 2026). Quotes and invoices are on all three plans.
A customer portal is listed on Enterprise only. Joblogic doesn't list a customer-facing online booking feature on that page; Enterprise includes custom integrations.
Fergus
Fergus's UK pricing page shows Essentials at a £39 list price and Professional at £45, with Enterprise on custom pricing (as of October 2026). When we checked, it was advertising a time-limited 90% discount, so the first months may cost far less than list.
Enquiry management is on both plans. Fergus's help centre explains how to add its enquiry form to your website as an embedded iframe or a link.
Powered Now
Powered Now's pricing page lists Business at £28 a month for one user, Professional at £32 and Premium at £40 per user a month, excluding VAT (as of October 2026). Annual billing is £280, £320 and £400 respectively.
Gas certificates sit under "Compliant certificates & custom forms" on Professional and Premium. A customer portal for quotes, invoices and appointments is on Premium. The page says its Here Is My Work website is "Free forever on every plan".
ServiceM8
ServiceM8 prices by jobs, not users. Its UK pricing shows a free plan for 30 jobs a month, then Starter at £25 (50 jobs), Growing at £59 (150 jobs), Premium at £119 (500 jobs) and Premium Plus at £269 (1,500+ jobs), with unlimited users on paid plans (as of October 2026). VAT is not stated.
It lists Online Bookings on every plan, described as letting clients "get a price, select a time, then book a service with your business".
Workever
Workever's pricing page lists Base at £29 and Ultimate at £39 per user per month, with annual plans saving "up to 15%" (as of October 2026).
Ultimate adds a customer self-service portal where customers can request service and schedule appointments online.
Which plumbing software connects to your website?
This matters more than most plumbers think. If your website form just sends an email, someone still has to retype it into your software. A proper connection turns a web enquiry into a job or customer record automatically.
Commusoft
Online booking form added to your site with generated code (Paperless Office plan and above)
Tradify
Branded enquiry form and inbox on Pro and Plus
GES
Online invoice payment links and booking confirmations; no website booking widget mentioned on the pricing page
Joblogic
Customer portal on Enterprise; custom integrations
Fergus
Enquiry form embedded as an iframe or linked
Powered Now
Customer portal on Premium; free Here Is My Work website
ServiceM8
Online bookings on every plan
Workever
Customer portal with online scheduling on Ultimate
A few practical points from building plumbing sites:
Embedded forms should match your site.
An iframe that looks nothing like your page can put people off. Ask whether the form can be styled.
Keep a call button above any booking widget.
For burst pipes and no hot water, people ring. Online booking suits servicing and quotes.
Track the form.
Make sure enquiries from the embedded form still show in your analytics, so you know what your website is bringing in.
We cover the options in detail on our plumbing software integration page.
Which plumbing software should you choose?
Answer these in order:
- Do you do gas work? If most of your day is boilers and landlord gas safety records, start with tools that put certificates first: GES, Powered Now, Commusoft or Joblogic.
- How many people need a login? Per-user pricing gets expensive with office staff. ServiceM8 charges by job volume instead.
- Do you want online booking? If yes, shortlist ServiceM8, Commusoft and Workever, then check the plan tier.
- Do you use Xero or QuickBooks? Confirm the integration is on the tier you are buying.
- Will you be tied in? Commusoft says its contracts are twelve months. Check the term on every tool.
Use the free trials. Run real jobs through two tools for a fortnight each before committing.
Is plumbing software a big market?
Very. When we checked UK Google Ads data in October 2026, the click cost for "plumbing job management software" was around £91.08 (DataforSEO). Vendors pay that much because each customer is worth a lot to them over time. That's also a reminder: you have bargaining power, so ask for an annual discount or onboarding help.
How do we fit your software into your website?
We build websites only for plumbers and heating engineers, and we connect them to the software you already use where the vendor allows it. See plumbing software integration for how that works, plumbing website design for full builds, and the plumber website care plan if you want someone to keep the forms and links working after launch.
Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest plumbing software in the UK?
ServiceM8 has a free plan capped at 30 jobs a month, and Gas Engineer Software's Starter plan is £19 per user a month plus VAT, as of October 2026. Cheapest is not always best, so check which features each tier includes.
Which plumbing software lets customers book from my website?
ServiceM8 lists online bookings on every plan, Commusoft offers a booking form you add to your site, Workever's top tier has a customer portal with online scheduling, and Tradify and Fergus offer enquiry forms you can link or embed.
Do I need job management software as a sole trader plumber?
Not always. If you do a few jobs a week, a simple quote and invoice template may be enough. Software earns its keep once certificates, reminders, scheduling and chasing invoices start eating your evenings.
Is a CRM for plumbers the same as job management software?
Mostly, yes. All eight tools here store customer records, job history and contact details, which is the core of a CRM, alongside quoting, scheduling and invoicing.
Will my plumbing software work with Xero or QuickBooks?
Most of the tools here offer accounting integrations, but check the tier. For example, Gas Engineer Software lists QuickBooks, Xero and Sage on its Pro plan, as of October 2026.
